Remodel a Teens Room... 15 Yr Old Boy?
I want a subtle beach theme. Not overpowering but you know it's there. I want it to also be modern. I have a theater system in there and I want to hide the cords to the speakers, Big Old Dresser which I would like to replace, Comforter on queen bed is rich in color. Dark green, golds, and reds are in it. I want to keep it. My room is fairly dark except for morning. The colors currently on the walls are yellow and blue on the cieling. (Old owners). Closet doors need to be replaced. I would like to fit a desk but that seems unlikely. Its a 10ft by 11ft bedroom with a gueen bed, a book shelf, and old (replaceable) dresser. Any ideas?
I would go for a nice cream color on the walls with a very light barely there light blue (like the sky) on the ceiling. Seafoam green might seem to feminine, but a celery green might also be nice for the wall.
Do you hate the style of the dresser or the color? You could paint it white, dark green or deep red (complimentary to the cream & the comforter) with a distressed look. The distressed white is often featured in beach cottage photos.
You can change out the closet doors with bifolds that have a louverd look in white. The lighter colors will make it bright & cheery.
