Twenty-three chefs who cooked for royalty and heads of State of the Club des Chefs des Chefs were during his visit in 1987 the United States, ate and drank with the best of our greatest leaders have to offer. And in my humble opinion, as butter icing is better than the fanciest frosting made without. I am not suggesting that Edith Frost is hmble. It is not. It is purely wonderful, as is her cake.
Edith Kennedy Glidewell went to be with her Lord in March 2002 but before it has hosted many hearts in many ways, this is not the apple pie least of them.
Ediths APPLE CAKE
Cream together Helf cup room temperature butter or shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add 1 egg and beat. Mix in 1-Helf cups applesauce.
Sift together 2 cups flour, 1 cup of tea. baking powder 1 teaspoon of tea. Tea soda 1 tsp. salt, 1 teaspoon of tea. , V. Helf cinnamon tea. , V. Helf allspice tea. nutmeg, and 1.4 C. Tea. cloves. Add to applesauce mixture, along with 1 cup raisins Grape and 3.4 cup chopped walnuts.
