I was able to understand this without a problem. I did watch a small section (which included the out of focus sceen) twice. Thank you for putting this video together! I had in the back of my mind to make a king size quilt but had no idea how I could handle something so large.

I think that with the poor description and demo photos no one could understand this technique from this video.

Hi! In response to a couple of the comments… Yes, I agree, I wish I could do it live, the problem is, youtube videos can only be 10 minutes long! Just try it with some scraps. Cut some squares of fabric, layer them with patting, and try to join them. Doing is learning. When I teach this class, I provide a kit for putting together 4 blocks. Hands on attempts will reinforce and clarify what you are seeing here.

That was so confusing! The most important photo is out of focus! Very disappointing.

It seems simple but I wish they had done it live so I could see the process better.

Stacy, I just read this section in your mother’s book and after watching this, I am still a little confused. It would be easier to understand by seeing a video with motion, like most of the YouTube videos are. Is there one like that somewhere else? I really prefer this finished look that having the strips. BTW, I was in your seminar Feb 2010 in Puyallup. That’s when I bought the book and got started quilting. It is quite a learning process, but ya gotta have quilts! Thanks, Chris
