In this video I show you the basics of basting your quilt top on your frame to prepare it for some free-motion quilting patterns. The frame and machine setup I use is the Stretch Frame and Voyager 17 both made by Hinterberg. This video only depicts my style of floating my batting and quilt top and some free-motion designs I chose to do on the quilt I was working on when filming this video.

@NC234girl Yay! I’m glad you found me too! I heavy duty taped my leaders on to my poles so I can’t make a video on that but there is an website called MQResource (google it) where machine quilters gather to discuss issues, design ideas, etc. You can join for free and there are free videos there that may help you too. Good luck and congrats on your new setup! I do have a video that shows how to load a quilt on so view that one too.
I am soooo glad I found your site!!! You make it seem so simple. I am absolutely in need of help!! I have bought a used New Generation 12 foot quilting table. beautiful..BUT. I need very basic help in setting up the leaders on the machine and then just setting up the backing , etc. I love quilting and want so very much to begin to quilt my own creations. Please can you help me??? Or indicate what a good online source is for me . Thank You in advance.
You made that seem so easy! Is there a way that you can tell me what machine it is? I’m shopping and hope to go to the Houston Int’l Show in November but am afraid I’ll get overwhlemed w/all the choices! Thank you SEW much for the video!
@sorangi HAHAHA>.. yes, it is the most inexpensive one out there but of all ones I demo-ed in person by far my favorite! You should come over and try it out when you finish your first quilt. )
