Rag quilt with the shirts?

I want to make a rag quilt for the first time and want to know if t-shirts fabric manufacturing is acceptable? I shirt quilt already made. Anyone who has tried a quilt RAG shirt? Thank you.

When you say "rag quilt", I guess we talk about style seam where diets are exposed at the top and left to Fray? Most people seem to prepare the t-shirt fabric to a regular T-shirt quilt, then add strips of fabric around the shirt of construction - strips of fabric sewn together and unravel what is permitted.
