How can I decorate my teenage room furthur?

Ok, well my bedroom is about to be redone, we are painting it a Spring Meadow Green (which is very ligh green, almost the color of he green backround by the Yahoo! Answers icon), and, an aqua (pure dark aqua) weaven bedspread with mathcing accent shaws and stuff like that. We can't get the furniture yet but, we might paint this Saturday. So, I was thinking of putting like square's or boxes on the wall's...for example:

lol. How can I achive this look without being tacky? I have to use blue tape right? Lol, I am so afraid it'll come out looking bad!

Great thing about painting is you can always fix it! just go for it start in a closet or scrap plywood or drywall to practice if you can .

Do the most visible wall last after your technique is best!
